The story
The San Antonio Spurs have signed forward Terry Taylor to a training-camp contract, Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot reports. The move brings San Antonio’s preseason roster back to the maximum of 21 players after the team waived guard RJ Davis on Tuesday.
The story
The deal is a non-guaranteed camp agreement. Returning rights and any G League path are separate from this NBA signing.

Davis had been on an Exhibit 10 deal and was waived Tuesday, according to the October 13 transaction list. Garcia’s report ties Taylor’s signing to filling that open camp spot.

Taylor’s G League returning rights were sent from the Iowa Wolves to the Austin Spurs in an August trade, Hoops Rumors notes. That makes Austin a possible next stop if he is later waived, but no waiver or G League assignment is confirmed yet.
Background
Taylor, 27, has four seasons of NBA service with Indiana, Chicago and Sacramento from 2022-25. He holds career averages of 4.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per game across 98 regular-season appearances.
Background
His most recent NBA stint was a 10-day contract with Sacramento in the second half of 2024-25. He spent much of last season with the Brisbane Bullets in Australia’s NBL, then finished with Iowa in the G League.
Background
He also played for Team USA in a 2026 World Cup qualifying window.
Background
Reports describe the camp deal as likely an Exhibit 10 contract, which can carry a bonus of up to $91,000 if a player clears waivers and spends at least 60 days with the affiliate. That bonus path is not confirmed as awarded.
