Butler said that as soon as he can take the floor, he will be back out there competing for Golden State.

The 37-year-old tore the ACL in his right knee in January and had surgery that ended his 2025-26 season.

He says the jump is fine. The danger is in the landing, so he is careful not to come down too hard.

Steve Kerr has floated February, about a year after the injury, as an estimate rather than a target.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. has already ruled Butler out for opening night and the early part of the season.
