First start, rough first half

Brayden Burries started for the first time on Oct. 14 and missed six of his first seven shots against a Chicago lineup built around its regulars.

19 points after the break

He finished with 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals in 29 minutes. Seventeen of those points came after halftime.

Perfect at the line

Burries went 5-of-12 from the field, 1-of-6 from three and 8-of-8 at the free-throw line. Every free throw came in the second half.

'A first for everything'

'Just thankful, blessed,' Burries said of hearing his name with the starters. 'It took me back to Arizona a little bit with the starting five.'

Third-quarter surge

He hit a 22-foot three, made six free throws and finished a steal with a running dunk for 11 points in the third. Milwaukee held out most of its rotation.
