The Milwaukee Bucks signed guard Marcus Garrett to an Exhibit 10 contract on Saturday, according to Keith Smith, and waived him just hours later as part of the club's final roster trims.
Garrett was one of four players cut by Milwaukee on Saturday alongside Pete Nance, Johni Broome and Jake Stephens.
The same-day sign-and-waive is a common mechanism around the league: an Exhibit 10 deal carries a bonus if the player spends at least 60 days with the team's G League affiliate, which in Milwaukee's case is the Wisconsin Herd.
Garrett, 27, played his college basketball at Kansas and began his NBA career on a two-way contract with the Miami Heat in 2021.
