Rich Paul confirmed Cleveland was the only team LeBron James met with in July before he chose the 76ers.

Koby Altman, Grant Gilbert and general manager Brandon Weems, a childhood friend of James, made the pitch.

"That's a team trying to build toward the championship," James said after Thursday's game.

Cleveland and Philadelphia were finalists along with Minnesota, Miami and Golden State.

The Cavaliers brought Mario Hezonja back from the EuroLeague and traded for Peyton Watson.

James had 17 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals as the Sixers erased a 29-point deficit to beat Cleveland.
