Ben Simmons sat out Tuesday's 110-98 preseason loss to Portland, so his Golden 1 Center debut has to wait.

Christie said the Kings will listen to Simmons and the staff as they build him up, and called him spectacular.

Simmons had just made his Kings debut Saturday against Golden State with seven points in nine minutes.

"There's a bigger picture here, and that picture is for him to be available for 82 games in the regular season," Christie said.

Zach LaVine, Domantas Sabonis and Malik Monk also sat as Sacramento fell to 0-4 in the preseason.
