Early in camp, Jordi Fernández said this could be the best playmaking year of Julius Randle's career.

In Monday's 131-122 win over Washington, Randle had 14 points and nine assists, all nine in the first half.

Fernández said the only player he has seen do something similar is Nikola Jokić.

He credited Randle's timing and teammates moving into the right spots when he posts up or isolates.

Through three exhibitions Randle is averaging 8.0 assists per 36 minutes.
