Kerr settled Williams' role a week before opening night after he arrived on a non-guaranteed deal in August.

Kerr said the job comes with responsibility, and a big part of that is ball security.

Kerr called the 26-year-old the most explosive player the Warriors have had at getting past defenders in a long time.

Williams scored 19 on 7-of-8 shooting against Sacramento but had five turnovers.

He had just one turnover in about 15 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Lakers in Las Vegas.
