Warriors' hard cap leaves room for only three of Williams, Terry, Niang and Bassey

Oct 15, 2026

Four players, three seats

Golden State has about $348,000 left under a $221.686 million hard cap, so it can keep only three of Brandon Williams, Dalen Terry, Georges Niang and Charles Bassey.

A hard stop

Crossing the tax costs money. Going over a hard cap is not allowed at all, and the league rejects the move.

The guarantees

Bassey is partially guaranteed at about $1.4 million and Niang at about $1.8 million. Terry is not guaranteed. Williams jumps to $1.4 million on opening day.

Kerr's tip

Steve Kerr has called Williams the backup point guard. Bassey matters with Kristaps Porzingis not expected ready for the opener.

Terry or Niang

Terry scored a team-high 23 vs. Portland on Oct. 7, but his deal is the easiest to erase. Rosters lock Monday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. ET.
