Austin Reaves’ 28 points sit atop the early 2026-27 single-game board

Austin Reaves put up 28 points against the Golden State Warriors in Las Vegas on October 13, and that line now sits alone atop WhyNBA’s 2026-27 single-game scoring board. The Lakers still fell 101–89, but the night produced the clearest early scoring high of the exhibition slate.

The line that leads the board

NBA’s final-score card for Tuesday listed Reaves with 28 points, seven assists and four made threes. WhyNBA’s league-leaders page, built from licensed box scores through October 14, ranks that 28 as the top single-game scoring total among 45 finished games with a box so far. The next cluster on the same board includes Leonard Miller, Bennett Stirtz and Anthony Edwards at 26, with Deni Avdija also at 26 in Portland’s win at Sacramento.

Reaves reached 23 by halftime on 8-of-12 shooting and 3-of-4 from three before finishing 10-of-15 from the floor, per the NBA highlight posts from that game.

Thin early averages, one clear high

Per-game preseason tables on RealGM and FOX Sports still sit on tiny samples. Payton Pritchard leads those early scoring averages at 25.0 points in one game, with Jayson Tatum at 23.0 and Luka Dončić at 22.0 across two. Reaves’ night is different: it is a single-game ceiling already logged on WhyNBA’s own high board, not a one-game average.

The same WhyNBA card set already lists two preseason triple-doubles — Alperen Sengun’s 16-10-10 at Dallas on October 9 and Nikola Jokić’s 22-11-10 against Chicago on October 11 — so the exhibition sample is starting to fill more than scoring alone.

Standings backdrop for the Lakers and Warriors

a preseason standings through October 14 put Golden State at 3-2 after the Las Vegas win and Los Angeles at 2-2. Portland and Brooklyn remain the only 3-0 teams. Those marks reset on opening night, October 20, when the live 2026-27 standings hub starts updating after the first regular-season final.

What the hubs show

League leaders and stats pages already carry the growing 2026-27 single-game and clutch boards next to last season’s qualified tables. The standings hub still shows final 2025-26 conference records until tip-off. Feed widgets look current for this window; no code changes were made.
