Bones Hyland scored 23 points and Zyon Pullin added 22 as the Minnesota Timberwolves edged the Miami Heat 125-124 in their October 10 preseason game. Miami scored 40 points in the fourth quarter but finished one point short.

The official NBA box score records Hyland shooting 6-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from three-point range. He made all six of his free throws and finished with four rebounds, four assists and three steals in 21 minutes.

Minnesota survives a high-scoring finish

The Timberwolves led 24-23 after the first quarter, 60-56 at halftime and 91-84 through three quarters. Minnesota scored 34 points in the fourth, enough to hold off Miami’s 40-point period. The official game record lists the 125-124 result as final.

Pullin made seven of his nine shots and went 8-of-8 at the free-throw line. Terrence Shannon Jr. added 19 points. As a team, Minnesota made 29 of 33 free throws and shot 47.1 percent from the field.

Conwell leads Miami with 22 points and nine assists

Ryan Conwell led the Heat with 22 points, nine assists and five rebounds, without a turnover in just over 32 minutes. Vladislav Goldin scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and grabbed six rebounds. Nikola Jovic added 16 points.

Miami made 16 of its 34 three-point attempts, compared with Minnesota’s 14-of-34 performance. The one-point margin came in an exhibition game, so these minutes and scoring totals are a preseason snapshot rather than a settled regular-season rotation.
