Jazz waive Jaelen House six days after signing him

The Utah Jazz waived guard Jaelen House on October 1, six days after announcing his signing alongside center Jonas Aidoo. The move ends House’s brief stint with Utah before the start of preseason games.

House, 25, went undrafted in 2024 after finishing his college career at New Mexico. He spent the next two seasons with the G League’s San Diego Clippers, where he averaged 17.3 points, 6.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds across 32 games in 2025-26.

What comes after a waiver

The Salt Lake City Stars acquired House’s G League rights from the San Diego Clippers on September 19, sending the rights to Max Klesmit and Cameron McGriff in return. That trade gives Utah’s affiliate a connection to House, but a rights transfer is separate from a completed signing to the Stars’ roster.

Being waived does not automatically place House with a G League team. A waiver claim would transfer his existing NBA contract; clearing waivers would allow him to seek a new agreement subject to the applicable rules. Utah’s preseason starts Sunday

The Jazz open their exhibition schedule against the Denver Nuggets on October 4 at CU Events Center in Boulder, Colorado. Denver then visits Utah’s Delta Center on October 6.
