Training camp update: October 4, 2026

Liam McNeeley said his offseason work and Summer League experience have made him more confident in seeking shots and creating opportunities for teammates. Speaking after Charlotte’s October 4 practice, he described a physical, competitive camp in which veterans continued offering advice even when they were on the opposing practice team.

The Hornets’ October 1 camp report noted that McNeeley earned Second-Team All-Summer League honors after averaging 21.7 points in three appearances and making 10 of 19 three-pointers. Those are July Summer League numbers, separate from the NBA regular-season statistics elsewhere on this page.

McNeeley said entering his second NBA season also gives him a clearer understanding of what to expect. Charlotte was still assessing its competing roles in camp.
