The Phoenix Suns have agreed to a three-year, $29 million extension with third-year center Oso Ighodaro, according to Shams Charania. The deal is fully guaranteed, according to Kelly Iko.

Phoenix is picking up the 24-year-old’s $2.5 million team option for the 2027-28 season, and the extension kicks in starting in 2028-29 and runs through 2030-31, according to Charania.

Ighodaro has established himself as a solid, versatile defender and efficient scorer and decision-maker as the Suns look for answers at the center spot. He averaged 6.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 22.0 minutes per game last season, making 24 starts and shooting 65.3% from the field. He started all four of Phoenix’s playoff games last spring, averaging 7.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 32.3 minutes.

With Mark Williams expected to miss extended time following shoulder surgery, Ighodaro is expected to command a major role in the Suns’ frontcourt alongside second-year center Khaman Maluach.
