The Golden State Warriors still have no public update on Kristaps Porzingis, who has been away from the team for all of training camp with an unspecified health issue, Eurohoops reported on Saturday.

Checked October 10, 2026. The team has not disclosed the nature of the issue.

What the Warriors have said

Coach Steve Kerr said on Friday that there is nothing new to report. He called the situation concerning and said he has only exchanged text messages with Porzingis and has not spoken to him directly. The team is keeping the matter private, with team doctor Rick Celebrini as the main point of contact.

Eurohoops reports that Porzingis, 31, is likely to be out at least at the start of the regular season.

Why it matters

Golden State gave Porzingis a two-year extension in June. He joined the team in a February 2026 trade with Atlanta and has played 15 games for the Warriors since.

The roster is thin elsewhere too. Jimmy Butler III is recovering from a torn ACL and Moses Moody from a ruptured patellar tendon. The Warriors have preseason games left against Sacramento, Portland and the Lakers, and they open the season against the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena on October 21. Expect Kerr to use those games to settle a rotation without his big man.
