Opening Day rosters due Monday at 5 p.m. ET: what the Oct. 19 deadline means

Oct 14, 2026

Cut day

Opening Day rosters are due Monday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. ET: no more than 15 standard contracts and three two-way deals per team.

Opening Night

Tuesday's tripleheader follows: Boston at Detroit, Philadelphia at New York and Oklahoma City at San Antonio.

Last contract moves

Through Monday, teams can still convert Exhibit 10 deals to two-ways, finish sign-and-trades and file eligible extensions.

Why Saturday matters

A player waived Monday would not clear until Wednesday and gets paid for those days, so many non-guaranteed cuts come by Saturday, Oct. 17.

What to watch

Waiver announcements, two-way conversions and the last camp battles through Monday evening.
