Bam Adebayo passes Udonis Haslem as the Heat’s all-time leading rebounder in the win at Atlanta

Bam Adebayo became the Miami Heat’s all-time leading rebounder on Wednesday night, passing Udonis Haslem’s franchise record of 5,791 in a 129-117 win over the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena. Adebayo entered the night needing seven rebounds to pass Haslem and finished with nine, along with a season-high 24 points.

The milestone came in Miami’s first win of the season after an 0-4 start. Haslem grabbed his 5,791 rebounds over 20 seasons with the Heat, while the 29-year-old Adebayo has spent his entire career with Miami since being drafted in 2017.

Adebayo had called himself the “scapegoat” for the winless start after Monday’s loss to Dallas, and he answered with his best game of the young season. Read what Adebayo said about the criticism after Monday’s loss.
