The Warriors are exploring the trade market for Kristaps Porzingis, and the Bucks are among the teams Golden State has contacted, Sam Amick and Nick Friedell report. They add that the Bucks are not believed to be interested in Porzingis.
If the Warriors want a center back, Milwaukee’s Myles Turner would be the likeliest target. He has three years and $83.55 million left on his contract, with a 2026-27 cap hit of about $26.58 million, while Porzingis earns $20 million. Golden State is over the first tax apron and cannot take back more salary than it sends out, so it would have to attach at least one more player to Porzingis. Several Warriors players cannot be traded until at least December 15.
Anthony Slater writes that, given Porzingis’ uncertain health, Golden State would likely have to include draft assets to get real value. The Warriors have several tradable first-round picks. Their 2030 first-rounder, which goes to Memphis if it lands outside the top 20, is the only one they do not fully control. Slater adds that most teams are still in evaluation mode and are not looking to shake up their rosters this early in the season.
Slater uses Jakob Poeltl as an example. His four-year, $103.6 million contract is viewed as a negative asset, but the Raptors hope to contend in the short term and Poeltl is a key part of their frontcourt, so they may not move him in a deal for Porzingis.
