Indiana led 5-0 in the opening minutes on a Pascal Siakam three and an Ivica Zubac layup, the Pacers’ only lead of the night and their largest. Denver answered immediately, went ahead 8-7 on a Jokić basket and led 27-19 after one quarter.
The Nuggets then ripped off a 15-0 run in the second quarter during a stretch of nearly four minutes without an Indiana field goal. Marvin Bagley III, Tyus Jones, Johnson, Spencer Jones and DeMar DeRozan all scored in the burst, turning a 34-28 edge into 49-28. Murray’s jumper with 1:05 left in the half made it 64-37, Denver’s largest lead, and the Nuggets took a 64-41 advantage into the locker room.
Indiana won the third quarter 37-26. Aaron Nesmith hit back-to-back threes to cut the deficit to 79-67, and a Quenton Jackson layup with 1:16 left in the period brought the Pacers within 88-78. Denver led 90-78 after three.
Jarace Walker’s three with 7:26 remaining made it 102-95. The Nuggets scored the next six points — a Spencer Jones layup, an Aaron Gordon dunk and two Christian Braun free throws — to push the lead back to 108-95. Andrew Nembhard’s three with 2:07 left got Indiana as close as 110-102, but Murray made two free throws and Gordon added two more to close it.

Jokić, on the win: “I just try to play the game the right way, hopefully we can win more games; to win is the most important thing, I do not think about stats.”

Siakam on the setting: “It was tough environment, we are not used to this, the altitude and everything is hard to get going. Our force and energy was better in the second half, but it was not enough.”
