Chapter 1

7-1 after a summer of change

The Philadelphia 76ers beat Chicago 126-107 on Monday night, Nov. 2, and are 7-1, tied with Houston for the best record in the NBA. They are 3-0 on the road and half a game ahead of Detroit (6-1) in the East.

This is a rebuilt team. LeBron James chose Philadelphia over Cleveland this summer and began his record 24th season in a 76ers jersey, Jaylen Brown arrived in the trade that sent Paul George to Boston, and Anfernee Simons signed as a free agent. Last spring the Knicks swept the 76ers in the second round on the way to the title.
