Jalen Williams. Image: licensed from BasketAPI.Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams was stretchered off the court after a hard fall during Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Ohm Youngmisuk described Williams’ left ankle bending the wrong way; Kurt Helin described it as a knee injury. The team offered no immediate diagnosis.
Williams tried to get up with teammate Chet Holmgren’s help before trainers kept him down and brought out the stretcher, Rylan Stiles noted. The Oklahoma City crowd chanted “J-Dub” as he was carried off, and Williams answered with two thumbs up.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander teared up discussing the injury afterward, Tim MacMahon noted. “I just feel bad for him,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “It’s obviously going to be tough without a player like that. But he’s not gone forever. He’ll be back better than ever, and we know it. We’ve just got to hold the fort down until he comes back.”
“Those are tough, man. We’re not doing great,” coach Mark Daigneault said, per Justin Martinez, without going into detail. The setback comes as Williams works to put an injury-riddled 2025-26 season behind him.
