Myles Turner blocked 11 shots in four games for Milwaukee, Thunder rookie Aday Mara swatted 12 in five, and Victor Wembanyama sat third.

Myles Turner finished the 2026-27 preseason as the league’s top shot blocker, rejecting 11 shots in four games for the Milwaukee Bucks, an average of 2.75 a night in just 22.1 minutes. The two-time blocks champion arrives at his second Bucks season looking like the rim protector Milwaukee paid for, even on nights his shot was not falling.
Turner’s best game came in a 105-90 loss at Charlotte on Sunday, October 11 (Game Center), when he blocked five shots in 24 minutes while scoring only five points. He closed the exhibition schedule with 13 rebounds and three blocks in a 128-127 overtime win at Indiana on Friday, October 16 (Game Center). He blocked at least one shot in all four appearances and added a steal in each, though he shot just 11 of 29 from the field.
The table covers all 67 completed preseason games on the WhyNBA scoreboard, from Saturday, October 3 through Friday, October 16, overtime included. To qualify a player needed at least three appearances. BPG is blocks per game, MPG is minutes per game, and tied players share a rank, which is why 11 names appear.
| Rank | Player | Team | BPG | Blocks | Games | MPG |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Myles Turner | Milwaukee Bucks | 2.75 | 11 | 4 | 22.1 |

| 9 | Joan Beringer | Minnesota Timberwolves | 1.50 | 9 | 6 | 19.2 |

| 9 | Kyshawn George | Washington Wizards | 1.50 | 6 | 4 | 24.0 |
Oklahoma City rookie Aday Mara blocked more shots than anyone, 12, but needed a fifth game to get there. The 7-foot-3 center did it without recording a single steal, and his preseason was about more than defense: he made all 10 of his field goal attempts for 22 points against Milwaukee on Wednesday, October 7, and posted 17 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four blocks in 33 minutes at Atlanta on Monday, October 12.
Victor Wembanyama played under 20 minutes a night for San Antonio and still averaged 2.25 blocks. His four-block, 19-point night came in a 123-103 home win over Phoenix on Wednesday, October 14. Further down, Joan Beringer and Charles Bassey were the only players on the list to reach nine blocks across six games, and Bassey is now day-to-day with knee tendinitis.
Turner and Clingan shared the single-game preseason high of five blocks with Portland’s Robert Williams III, who reached five in only 13 minutes against Golden State on Wednesday, October 7. Williams played too few games to qualify for the table. Exhibition minutes are short and uneven, so these numbers are a snapshot of camp form, not a forecast; the season leaders will build on the league leaders page.
Wembanyama and Mara could meet on opening night when the Thunder visit the Spurs on Tuesday, October 20 at 9:30 p.m. ET (Game Center). Turner and the Bucks open at the Washington Wizards, home of Davis and George, on Wednesday, October 21 at 7 p.m. ET (Game Center).
