Jaden McDaniels made 10 of 14 threes in four preseason games for Minnesota, Tyler Herro hit 13 of 23 for Milwaukee, and Bennett Stirtz made the most with 15.

Jaden McDaniels closed the 2026-27 preseason as the league’s most accurate three-point shooter, going 10 of 14 from deep in four games for the Minnesota Timberwolves. A 71.4 percent mark will not survive 82 games, but for a forward whose outside shot has always been the swing skill in his game, a month without many misses is worth noting before the Timberwolves open in Miami on Wednesday.
McDaniels did most of the damage in two nights. He went 4 of 6 from three and scored 16 in a 123-112 loss to Indiana on Wednesday, October 7, then hit 4 of 5 on his way to 22 points in a 122-104 win at the Knicks on Monday, October 12. He opened with 1 of 1 in the 116-97 win at Milwaukee and finished 1 of 2 against Detroit. He started all four games, played 20.7 minutes a night and averaged 14.8 points.
The list covers all 67 preseason games on the WhyNBA scoreboard, through Friday, October 16. To qualify, a player needs at least three appearances and at least 10 made threes; 25 players cleared both bars. 3P% is three-point percentage, 3PM-3PA is makes and attempts, 3PM/G is makes per game, and MPG is minutes per game.
| Rank | Player | Team | 3P% | 3PM-3PA | Games | 3PM/G | MPG |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jaden McDaniels | Timberwolves | 71.4 | 10-14 | 4 | 2.5 | 20.7 |
| 2 | Tyreke Key | Raptors | 61.1 | 11-18 | 5 | 2.2 | 11.8 |
| 3 | Tyler Herro | Bucks | 56.5 | 13-23 | 4 | 3.2 | 22.0 |
| 4 | Duncan Robinson | Pistons | 55.6 | 10-18 | 4 | 2.5 | 19.0 |
| 4 | Leonard Miller | Bulls | 55.6 | 10-18 | 5 | 2.0 | 19.7 |
| 6 | Hugo Gonzalez | Celtics | 55.0 | 11-20 | 4 | 2.8 | 20.2 |
| 7 | Sandro Mamukelashvili | Lakers | 54.2 | 13-24 | 5 | 2.6 | 19.9 |
| 8 | JaKobi Gillespie | Spurs | 50.0 | 12-24 | 5 | 2.4 | 14.0 |
| 8 | Desmond Bane | Magic | 50.0 | 12-24 | 3 | 4.0 | 20.9 |
| 8 | Cameron Johnson | Nuggets | 50.0 | 11-22 | 5 | 2.2 | 18.3 |
Just outside the top 10 sits Bennett Stirtz of the Thunder at 48.4 percent. Stirtz made 15 threes, more than anyone in the preseason, on 31 attempts while playing 27.2 minutes a night.
Tyler Herro was the most convincing name near the top. He shot at least 50 percent from deep in all four of his games for Milwaukee and saved the best for last, going 5 of 7 and scoring 25 in the 128-127 overtime win at Indiana on Friday. Tyreke Key got his 61.1 percent in under 12 minutes a game, with two 4-of-7 nights for Toronto.
The best single game belonged to Desmond Bane, who made 7 of 12 in Orlando’s 136-115 win over Miami on Friday (Game Center). Stirtz, Nickeil Alexander-Walker in Atlanta’s 135-111 win at Dallas, Miles Kelly of Golden State and Jared McCain of Oklahoma City each made six in a game.
Volume did not always come with accuracy. Stephen Curry made 13 threes on 31 tries, and Tristan da Silva hit 14 but needed 37 attempts. With preseason samples this small, one hot night can lift a shooter onto the list.
McDaniels and the Timberwolves open at the Miami Heat on Wednesday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET (Game Center). Herro and the Bucks visit Washington the same night at 7 p.m. ET (Game Center). The full numbers are on the league leaders and player stats pages, which switch to regular-season totals once the games count.
