The Toronto Raptors have picked up their rookie scale team options on forward Collin Murray-Boyles and wing Ja’Kobe Walter for the 2027-28 season, the team announced.
The third-year option on Murray-Boyles’ deal is worth $6.97 million. Walter’s fourth-year option is worth $5.87 million. Toronto has until November 1, 2027 to decide on Murray-Boyles’ fourth-year option for 2028-29, which is worth $8.87 million. Walter becomes eligible for a rookie scale extension next July as he enters the final year of his rookie deal.
Murray-Boyles, the No. 9 pick in the 2025 draft, averaged 8.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 21.9 minutes per game as a rookie and made the All-Rookie second team. The former South Carolina standout averaged 14.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 65.6 percent from the floor in a reserve role in Toronto’s seven-game first-round loss to Cleveland.
Walter, the No. 19 pick in 2024, has held a consistent rotation role since being drafted, averaging 20.8 minutes in 124 career regular-season games. The 22-year-old improved as a shooter last season, raising his field-goal percentage to 44.6 and his three-point mark to 40.9.
They were the only Raptors with rookie scale team options for 2027-28. Young players like the two of them are expected to play important complementary roles around Kawhi Leonard this season.
