Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry exited Sunday’s open practice after slipping and appearing to tweak his right knee during a scrimmage, according to Dalton Johnson. Curry limped off the court and initially tried to walk off the injury before heading back to the locker room, according to Nick Friedell, who noted it appeared to be a non-contact situation.
After practice, head coach Steve Kerr said the injury was an ankle tweak rather than a knee injury and that he expects Curry to be fine, though he declined to elaborate, according to Friedell.
If the injury is indeed to Curry’s ankle rather than a non-contact knee injury, that would be welcome news for a Warriors team already without Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody and Kristaps Porzingis due to health issues.
