Philadelphia 76ers center Tacko Fall was diagnosed with a left hip strain after an MRI, with reevaluation planned in approximately two weeks, according to team updates relayed by reporters Kyle Neubeck and Dave McMenamin on Thursday, October 1.

The October 7 version of Dave McMenamin’s report lists reassessment in approximately 7–10 days. This is an assessment window, not return-to-play clearance.

A reevaluation checkpoint during preseason

The original October 1 two-week window fell during Philadelphia’s preseason preparations. The next assessment will provide a checkpoint for Fall’s recovery; his playing availability will still depend on the subsequent update.

Philadelphia’s preseason opener against New York was scheduled for October 5 at 7 p.m. EDT. Follow our Knicks–76ers game page for the listed matchup details.

What is confirmed about Fall’s status

The Sixers’ official roster lists Fall, 30, at center. The October 1 injury reports do not establish a change to his roster status, a guaranteed rotation role or a future destination.

For now, the concrete next step is the planned reevaluation. A later return-to-play announcement would be a separate development. Our NBA injury tracker provides a place to follow availability updates during preseason.
