Opening night is Tuesday, and the final day before it filled the official feeds with hype reels, short films and a few lighter moments. The Knicks start their title defense against the 76ers at Madison Square Garden, the Pistons host Boston, and the Thunder meet the Spurs in the late national game. Here are seven clips from Monday worth your time, with a quick note on why each one matters this week.

Jalen Brunson’s year, in under a minute

The league’s recap of Brunson’s 2025-26 season runs through the whole list: All-Star, All-NBA, NBA Cup MVP, Eastern Conference finals MVP, Finals MVP and a championship. It lands the night before New York raises the banner and opens against Philadelphia at 7 p.m. ET, so every team on the schedule now gets the champion’s best shot first.

The 76ers answer with #throwtheballup

Philadelphia posted its own opening-week video under the #throwtheballup tag, and it quickly became the most liked team clip of the evening. The 76ers walk into the Garden as the visitors on banner night, which is about as loud a first test as a rebuilt roster can get.

Cade Cunningham is ready for Detroit

The Pistons put their star front and center with a simple message to the city. Detroit opens at home against Boston on Tuesday, and Cunningham carrying the offense from the first possession is the clearest path to a fast start for a team that kept its core together.

Victor Wembanyama’s goal is simple

A short preview spot ahead of Thunder vs. Spurs, set for 9:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, has Wembanyama talking about wanting to be the best player in the world. Opening against the Thunder gives him an immediate measuring stick on national television.

Tyrese Haliburton races the clock

Indiana’s locker room time trial is a light clip, but seeing Haliburton back in a Pacers practice setting and moving at full speed is the point. His health is the biggest question in Indiana this season, and every relaxed, quick video like this one is a good sign for fans.

Damian Lillard reads Portland’s messages

The Trail Blazers collected notes from fans and had Lillard read them on camera. It is a warm moment for a player whose bond with the city never really went away, and it sets the mood before Portland’s season opens on Wednesday.

Ryan Rollins takes on a bigger role

Milwaukee’s practice report centers on Rollins and the larger job waiting for him. With the Bucks settling their 15-man roster this week, how much he can handle as a ball handler will shape their guard rotation early in the season.
