Watch: Wembanyama’s four blocks, Fox and Castle feeding Wemby and Tarris Reed’s first bucket as the Spurs win 122-106 in Dallas

Six clips from the Spurs' 122-106 win over the Mavericks on Saturday, October 24: two lobs-and-finishes for Victor Wembanyama, Julian Champagnie from deep, Tarris Reed's first NBA basket and a relieved locker room after San Antonio's first win of the season.

Game Center: Spurs at Mavericks, box score and play-by-play

Stephon Castle finds Wembanyama

The first quarter was a shootout, 39-37 San Antonio, and the Castle-to-Wembanyama connection was the cleanest answer the Spurs had. Castle finished with eight assists and three steals in a full two-way night.

De’Aaron Fox lobs, Wembanyama finishes

With the Spurs up 75-63 midway through the third quarter, Fox threw it up and Wembanyama went and got it. Fox ran the offense all night, with 19 points and nine assists, and Wembanyama finished a game-best plus-32.

Julian Champagnie from deep

Champagnie came off the bench for 12 points, three made threes and three blocks without a single turnover. His shooting is part of why San Antonio could survive a night when Dallas shot a better percentage from the field.

Tarris Reed’s first NBA basket

Dallas cut the lead to 95-91 early in the fourth quarter, and the Spurs answered by winning the period 30-17. Along the way center Tarris Reed scored the first points of his NBA career.

Wembanyama’s full night

Twenty-three points on 9-of-18 shooting, seven rebounds, four blocks and a defensive presence that kept Dallas to just 17 points in the fourth quarter. San Antonio outscored the Mavericks by 32 with him on the floor.

Dylan Harper and the first win

Harper’s 22 points came on 9-of-18 shooting with three threes, and his relief after the buzzer said what the 0-2 start had meant to a young group. Sergio De Larrea led Dallas with 21 off the bench.

What comes next

The Spurs (1-2) return home to face the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, October 27 at 8:00 pm ET (Game Center). The Mavericks visit the Miami Heat on Monday, October 26 at 7:30 pm ET (Game Center).
