Eleven games, and a night full of comebacks of a different kind. Damian Lillard played his first game in Portland in more than three years, Tyrese Haliburton returned from his Achilles tear, Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard were back, and Walker Kessler did not miss a shot in his first game for the Lakers. Here are the official clips from Wednesday that are worth your time, each with a quick note on what you are watching.

Warriors at Lakers, the full highlights

Start with the late game, because it had everything. Stephen Curry opened his 18th season with 16 points in the first quarter, the Lakers took over with a 27-6 run either side of halftime, and Los Angeles won 127-105 after leading by as many as 35. Video: NBA on YouTube.

Curry’s first quarter

The Warriors’ own cut of Curry’s opening 12 minutes: pull-ups, layups, a bank shot and two deep threes, 7-of-9 from the field. He finished with 23, but he did not make another field goal after the first period. Video: @warriors on X.

Doncic behind his back to Kessler

Luka Doncic finished with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, and this was the best of the passes. A no-look, behind-the-back feed, and Walker Kessler is 9-for-9 at that point. Video: @NBA on X.

Walker Kessler, 12-for-12

Every make from a perfect first game in purple and gold. Kessler went 12-for-12 for 26 points, with 9 rebounds and 2 blocks, and 10 of the baskets were dunks, the most by a Laker in a game since Shaquille O’Neal in 2003. Video: @NBA on X.

Damian Lillard is home

Lillard’s first game in 542 days, and his first in a Blazers uniform in 1,309. He scored a game-high 25 with six threes and 6 assists in just 24 minutes, and Portland, which opened on a 21-0 run, beat Phoenix 124-83. Video: @NBA on X.

Ja Morant’s first night in Portland

The other debut at Moda Center. Morant made 6 of his 8 shots for 14 points, added 5 rebounds, a game-high 8 assists and 3 steals, and was plus-33 in his first game for the Trail Blazers. Video: @NBA on X.

Tyrese Haliburton, 486 days later

Watch this one to the end. Haliburton, back from the torn Achilles he suffered in Game 7 of the 2025 Finals, fought back tears in his on-court interview after scoring 23 points, 13 of them in the fourth quarter, with 12 assists in Indiana’s 123-120 win in New Orleans. Video: @NBA on X.

Kevin Durant, year 20, from every angle

A one-handed dunk in traffic, shown from all sides. Durant scored 30 on 10-of-16 shooting in Houston’s 128-110 win over Dallas, joining LeBron James as the only players to score 30 or more in a season opener in their 20th season or later. Video: @NBA on X.

Kyrie Irving scores again

On the other side of that game, the first basket of Irving’s comeback, 597 days after his last one. He scored 15 for the Mavericks in his first regular-season game since tearing his left ACL in March 2025. Video: @NBA on X.

Kawhi back in Toronto

Kawhi Leonard’s first game for the Raptors since the 2019 title ended with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals, all 11 of his free throws made, and a 135-92 win in which Toronto never trailed. Here he is afterwards on what he wants to give the city. Video: @NBA on X.

Caleb Wilson’s debut

A bright spot for Chicago on a rough night in Toronto. The Bulls’ own reel of the rookie’s first game: 16 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Video: @chicagobulls on X.

Giannis in Miami, LaMelo in Minnesota

Two new uniforms in one game. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 35 on 13-of-19 shooting in his first game for the Heat, and LaMelo Ball hit five threes for 21 points in his first for the Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards’ 45 points decided it, 131-106 Minnesota. Video: @NBA on X.

A new duo needs a new handshake
