Game state source: whynba · Retrieved Oct 11, 2:28 am EDTWashington swapped one Capital City Go-Go regular for another on Sunday, giving the high-scoring G League guard a preseason audition while clearing a camp spot.

The Washington Wizards announced Sunday, October 11, that guard Alondes Williams has joined the club on an Exhibit 10 deal, with forward-center Skal Labissiere waived to make room.
The move puts one of the most productive players on the club’s G League affiliate into training camp before opening night, and it formalizes an agreement that Chris Haynes first reported in August.
The team made the announcement through its public relations account on X, listing both transactions together.
A Wake Forest product who was not selected in the 2022 draft, Williams has spent the four seasons since moving between NBA rosters and their minor league clubs, with stops in Brooklyn, Miami, Detroit and Washington. He has appeared in 13 NBA games.
His best stretch came last season. Across 35 games for the Capital City Go-Go, Williams put up 22.5 points per game to go with 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals, and he was picked for the G League All-Star game. That form earned him a 10-day contract with the Wizards in February, when injuries had thinned the perimeter rotation. He averaged 11.0 points across four appearances off the bench, a run highlighted by 25 points and 10 rebounds against the Indiana Pacers on February 20, the first double-double of his career.
Williams is no longer eligible for a two-way contract, so his path is narrow: he either wins a standard roster spot in camp or, as an Exhibit 10 signee, heads back to the Go-Go, where the deal’s structure lets Washington keep his G League rights. He was also the G League’s Most Improved Player and an All-NBAGL First Team pick in 2023-24.
Labissiere had re-signed with Washington only days ago. He spent much of last season with the Go-Go as well, earning a 10-day call-up in late January and scoring 13 points off the bench in one of his appearances before the contract ran out in early February.
According to Hoops Rumors, Labissiere played well for the Go-Go last season, and his Exhibit 10 terms would pay him a bonus once he logs 60 days with the affiliate this season, which suggests a return to the affiliate is possible if he clears waivers. Neither the team nor Labissiere has said what comes next.
The Wizards, coming off a 114-108 overtime win over the Detroit Pistons, host the Brooklyn Nets in a preseason game on Monday, October 12, at 7 p.m. ET. Follow it in the Nets-Wizards Game Center, and track every roster move on the transactions page.
