Darryn Peterson scored 14 points and handed out five assists as the Utah Jazz beat the San Antonio Spurs 119-109 at Delta Center on Monday, October 12. Utah had seven players score in double figures, according to Chandler Holt’s KSL Sports recap.
All five Jazz starters reached double figures. Peterson started alongside Keyonte George, Lauri Markkanen, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jaxson Hayes, and was the only member of that group to play after halftime. He scored 10 of his points in the third quarter.
Andrew Peters’ Bleacher Report recap also confirms the 119-109 result and Peterson’s 14-point, five-assist night. Its final statistics list two rebounds, one steal and one turnover for the rookie guard.
Ace Bailey finished with six points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. KSL reported five steals for Isaiah Collier and three for George, giving Utah contributions beyond the scoring column.
Brice Sensabaugh made his preseason debut after missing Utah’s first two exhibitions with a hip injury. Holt reported 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals for the forward.
KSL counted 15 San Antonio turnovers and 13 Utah steals in the first half. The same stretch included 11 offensive rebounds for the Spurs and 16 Jazz fouls, producing 25 San Antonio free-throw attempts. Utah’s activity therefore came with rebounding and discipline issues to review.
The Spurs sat much of their established rotation, including Victor Wembanyama, De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, Devin Vassell and Tobias Harris. Utah was without Kyle Filipowski, Jusuf Nurkic and Blake Hinson.
Those absences limit what the result says about the teams’ regular-season prospects. Utah’s starting group and reserve performances were useful preseason evidence, not confirmation of an opening-night rotation. The Jazz finish their exhibition schedule against Phoenix on October 16.
