Kristaps Porzingis attended a September mini-camp organized by Jimmy Butler in San Diego, but team sources described him as “indifferent and uninterested in participating in scrimmages and strenuous on-court prep work,” Anthony Slater reports.
Porzingis had been in the Warriors’ practice facility and on the court in the weeks leading up to training camp. On the Sunday before camp opened, he called general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. to tell the team he was still battling a health issue and would be taking an indefinite leave of absence, Slater adds. Porzingis said a year ago that he was dealing with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.
The Warriors announced Wednesday that Porzingis will not be around the team for the immediate future, and they have begun exploring the trade market for him.
