Oct. 24, 2026 — Thanksgiving week is a short one on the NBA calendar but a busy one for fans in the building. Houston marks the 30th anniversary of Space Jam on Monday, Nov. 23, there are two extra NBA Cup Nights on Tuesday and Wednesday, the league takes Thanksgiving Day off, and group play ends with 11 games on Black Friday, Nov. 27. The weekend brings Kids Days in Washington, Charlotte and Memphis and Cleveland’s Salute to Service Night. Here is every themed night and giveaway from Nov. 23 to Nov. 29, with local and Cairo tip times.

Every themed night, Nov. 23 to Nov. 29
Tip times come from the league schedule. Egypt and the U.S. are both on standard time by then, so Cairo is seven hours ahead of the East Coast, eight ahead of Central time and 10 ahead of the West Coast. Most evening games tip between midnight and 5 a.m. Cairo time the next day.

A “ticket package” or “group ticket” means the item only comes with a special ticket bought for that game, not with a regular seat. Everything else is handed out at the doors or built into the game presentation.
Monday, Nov. 23: Space Jam in Houston
Houston opens the week with Space Jam Night against the Clippers at Toyota Center, a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the 1996 film. The Space Jam Night ticket package includes one game ticket and a Space Jam x Rockets themed Tune Squad basketball top, and the arena says more details are still to come. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. CT tip, which is 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in Cairo. The Rockets’ full calendar, including the new Dunkstronaut court, is in our Rockets promo schedule.
An hour and a half earlier in Chicago, the Bulls host Cleveland for the second game of their Artist Hat Series, presented by BMO, on a Statement Edition Night (Bulls promo schedule). Charlotte sells a Peanuts group package for its game against Memphis (Hornets theme nights), and Minnesota offers a Family Meal Deal package, presented by Tonies, for Brooklyn’s visit (Timberwolves promo schedule).
Tuesday and Wednesday: two extra Cup Nights
NBA Cup group play runs on Fridays from Oct. 30 to Nov. 27, plus two extra Cup Nights this week, on Tuesday, Nov. 24, and Wednesday, Nov. 25. Every Cup game counts in the regular-season standings too. Here are all 23 Cup games of the week, with the full groups in our Cup group play schedule.

Wednesday’s nine-game slate starts early: Heat-76ers tips at 5 p.m. ET, midnight in Cairo, the night before Thanksgiving. Charlotte’s second home Cup game, against Chicago, is a Cup Night presented by Bank of America, played on the Hornets’ own Cup court.
In San Francisco, Golden State repeats its Cup giveaway for the Kings: every fan gets a Warriors Cup Games shirt, presented by CarMax, and for a Chase Center first the shirts alternate grey and blue by section to match the team’s Cup court. The same game is Volleyball Night for group ticket holders (Warriors Cup Games guide). Milwaukee lists its Brooklyn game as an NBA Cup theme game (Bucks theme nights).
Thursday, Nov. 26: no games
The league is dark on Thanksgiving Day, the only night of the week with no games. Basketball returns the next evening.
Black Friday, Nov. 27: group play ends
All 11 games on Friday are Cup games, and they settle the groups. The eight teams that advance play the quarterfinals in team arenas on Dec. 4 and 5, the semifinals on Dec. 8 and 9, and the final on Friday, Dec. 11, at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, as set out in our 2026-27 key dates guide.
Detroit has the night’s giveaway: a Statement belt bag, presented by Xfinity, at its Cup Night against Milwaukee, which is also a Shock Night (Pistons giveaways). Toronto holds its second Raptors Cup Night against Brooklyn (Raptors theme nights), and San Antonio’s second Road to the Cup night is against the Lakers at 8:30 p.m. CT, 4:30 a.m. Saturday in Cairo (Spurs promo schedule). Grizzlies-Timberwolves is Minnesota’s last home Cup game of group play (Hunt the Cup).
Saturday: Kids Days and Space City Saturday
Washington stacks three ticket packages on its 5 p.m. ET game against Orlando, midnight in Cairo. Kids Day comes with the Wizards edition of the viral Mystery Squishy Dumpling, in red, white, blue or a rare G-Wiz version. The Kentucky night in the Wizards College Series comes with a co-branded Kentucky football jersey, and German Heritage Night, part of the Heritage Night Series, with a special edition soccer jersey. All three are while supplies last (Wizards promotions).
An hour later, Charlotte holds the first of its three Buzz City Kids Days against Brooklyn, and the first 7,500 fans get a Hugo squish pillow, presented by Novant Health. In Houston, Philadelphia’s visit is a Space City Saturday, with the Rockets in their black Statement Edition uniforms on the Dunkstronaut court.
Sunday: Salute to Service and family afternoons
Cleveland holds Salute to Service Night against Miami at 6 p.m. ET, 1 a.m. Monday in Cairo. The night is presented by Ohio CAT, and as part of it the Cavaliers award two $5,000 scholarships to active duty service members or veterans, chosen from essays on how service prepared them for life (Cavaliers promo schedule).
Sunday is also the best day of the week for fans in Egypt. Memphis hosts the Lakers at 3 p.m. CT, 11 p.m. Sunday in Cairo, for its Sunday Family Funday Kids Day. The ticket offer, from $35, includes a $10 food voucher and a Grizzlies squishy toy, and the first 3,000 kids 12 and under get a Grizzlies basketball (Grizzlies promo schedule). Celtics-Spurs tips at the same time.
Later on Sunday, Portland holds its first Blazers Family Funday against New Orleans at 3 p.m. PT (Blazers theme nights), Toronto has a Sunday Funday against Denver, and Golden State hosts the Clippers for Filipino Heritage Night, with a special item for group ticket holders (Warriors promo schedule).
Before you go
First-come giveaways such as Charlotte’s pillows usually run out before tip, so arrive when doors open, normally 60 to 90 minutes early. Several teams, including the Knicks, 76ers, Celtics, Magic and Thunder, have not listed theme nights for this week, and Cup hosts often add promotions late, so check the team or arena game page on the day.
