The October 14 transaction log adds waivers of Cole Swider, Jaxson Robinson, Terry Taylor, Steven Crowl and DeAndre Williams, each with a G League path already lined up.

Five more training-camp players were cut on Wednesday as teams kept trimming toward opening night. The NBA’s official transaction log for October 14 lists waivers of forward Cole Swider by the Los Angeles Lakers, guard Jaxson Robinson by the Cleveland Cavaliers, forward Terry Taylor by the San Antonio Spurs, center Steven Crowl by the Denver Nuggets and forward DeAndre Williams by the LA Clippers.
None of the five was expected to make a regular-season roster. Each of them has a clear link to his NBA team’s G League affiliate, which is where non-guaranteed camp players usually go after they are cut in October.
Swider’s second stint with the Lakers lasted a little over two weeks. Los Angeles signed the 6-foot-8 forward and center William Kyle III to Exhibit 10 contracts on September 27, and both were expected to play for the Coachella Valley Lakers after the preseason. Kyle was waived on October 9 to make room for Rafael Castro.
Swider, 27, spent last season with Anadolu Efes in Turkey, averaging 6.3 points in 53 games across all competitions while shooting 47 percent from the field, 42 percent from three and 90 percent from the line. He was a Lakers two-way player in 2022-23, appearing in seven games, and later had stints with Miami, Detroit and Toronto.
Cleveland signed Robinson to a camp deal on October 9 and waived Curtis Jones and Kadary Richmond to open the spot. Five days later, Robinson is off the roster again. It is the second straight year the Cavaliers have cut him in the preseason. Cleveland also waived the 6-foot-7 wing before the 2025-26 season, and he then spent his rookie pro year with the Cleveland Charge.
Hoops Rumors’ Rory Maher noted that Robinson averaged 10.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 21.0 minutes over 33 regular-season games for the Charge, making 37.3 percent of his threes. He played five college seasons at Texas, Arkansas, BYU and Kentucky.
Taylor’s camp deal with San Antonio was short-lived. Reports said the signing after the Spurs waived RJ Davis on October 13, and the forward is now one of three players San Antonio released on October 14, along with Taelon Peter and Malik Williams.
The cut fits the plan Hoops Rumors described when Taylor signed. The Austin Spurs got his G League returning rights from the Iowa Wolves in an August trade, so a waiver followed by a move to Austin was always the likely path. Taylor has played 98 regular-season NBA games for Indiana, Chicago and Sacramento, most recently on a 10-day contract with the Kings in March 2025.
Denver’s move with Crowl looks like the one it made a day earlier with Pedro Bradshaw. The transaction log lists only the waiver of the former Wisconsin center, with no separately reported signing. The Grand Rapids Gold, the Nuggets’ G League affiliate, got Crowl’s returning rights from the Salt Lake City Stars in a trade announced September 21.
Crowl signed an Exhibit 10 deal with Utah in 2025 and was waived before that season. He spent last season with Salt Lake City, then played for Detroit’s Summer League team in July.
Williams was waived on the same day the Clippers released Cam Christie. The 29-year-old forward is another player whose G League path was already set. The San Diego Clippers got his returning rights from the Delaware Blue Coats on September 24, sending the rights to Max Abmas and Daniel Batcho the other way.
Williams averaged 16.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 46 games (35 starts) for Delaware last season, shooting 56.0 percent from the field. The 6-foot-9 Houston native played college ball at Evansville and Memphis, where he made the All-AAC first team as a senior.
If a player’s deal includes Exhibit 10 language, he can earn a bonus of up to $91,000 by clearing waivers and spending at least 60 days with his team’s G League affiliate. Swider and Robinson signed Exhibit 10 deals, and Hoops Rumors called that a near certainty for Taylor. The contract terms for Crowl and Williams have not been reported, and none of the five has officially been assigned to a G League team yet.
Rosters must be cut to 15 standard players plus three two-way slots before the regular season opens on October 20, so more waivers are expected over the next few days.
