Ty Jerome leads the NBA in scoring after the first week of the 2026-27 season, averaging 36.5 points across two Memphis wins. The guard has done it in barely 31 minutes a night and on 28 of 47 shooting, a 59.6 percent clip that no one else near the top of the list can match.

Jerome set the bar on opening night. On Wednesday, October 21, he scored 45 points on 17 of 25 shooting, with five threes, seven rebounds and six assists, as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Utah Jazz 123-103 (Game Center). He was plus-22 in under 32 minutes. Two nights later at Chase Center he added 28 on 11 of 22 in the 111-108 win over the Golden State Warriors (Game Center), the night Memphis closed on a 17-0 run. Rookie Cameron Boozer had 25 and 13 rebounds in that one.

Booker climbs, Edwards cools

Devin Booker jumped to No. 2 on Saturday night. After 23 points in Phoenix’s 124-83 loss at Portland, he poured in 43, a Suns home-opener record, against the Warriors (Game Center). He has made 16 of 17 free throws in two games.

Anthony Edwards matched Jerome’s 45 in Minnesota’s 131-106 win at Miami (Game Center), then took a back seat with 15 as seven Timberwolves reached double figures against Orlando. He has also made 11 threes, among the most in the league.

Tyrese Maxey is the steadiest name on the list, with 28, 32 and 26 in the 76ers’ three wins, but he has also carried the heaviest load at 39.1 minutes a game. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 35 and 36 in his first two Miami games before a 14-point night in Charlotte, and the Heat are still 0-3. Brooklyn is the only team with two players in the top 10, Julius Randle and Michael Porter Jr.

Two or three games is a tiny sample, and one big night can move a player five spots. The full board updates on the league leaders and player stats pages.

What comes next

Jerome and the Grizzlies visit the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, October 25, at 9:00 pm ET (Game Center), with Zach Edey sitting for ankle management.
