The Toronto Raptors turned undrafted center Nate Bittle‘s camp contract into a two-way deal on Saturday and released five other invitees, setting the roster they will take into Wednesday’s opener against the Chicago Bulls.

The club announced Bittle’s new contract on X, while reports reported the full set of moves.

A bet on a big man who cannot play yet

Bittle earned the deal without playing a preseason minute. A foot injury kept him out of every exhibition game, and reports reported that the seven-footer is probably still a month or more from game action. Toronto kept him anyway on the strength of his summer in Las Vegas and a final college season at Oregon in which the Central Point native led the Ducks with 16.8 points and 6.9 rebounds a game over 25 appearances.

The five released players were all on Exhibit 10 contracts. That structure matters now: if they sign with Raptors 905, Toronto’s G League affiliate, and stay there long enough, they collect a bonus, and the Raptors keep their rights close by. All five are expected to report to Mississauga.

Where the roster stands

Toronto is carrying 14 players on standard contracts and is expected to open the season with the 15th spot empty, a cushion that saves money and keeps room for an in-season addition. On the two-way side, the club had earlier let Chucky Hepburn and Trey Jemison go; Bittle fills one of those openings, and Murphy reported the team will leave another two-way seat open for now. That gives the front office a free slot to claim a camp cut from another team as waivers clear on Monday.

What comes next

The Raptors open the 2026-27 regular season at Scotiabank Arena against the Bulls on Wednesday, October 21, at 7:30 p.m. ET (Game Center).
