Sixers forward Dominick Barlow has been diagnosed with a lumbar spine bone stress response after undergoing imaging, the team announced Monday, according to Derek Bodner. Barlow will be out at least two weeks, when he will be reevaluated.

That timeline means he is sidelined until at least early November and will miss a minimum of the first seven games of the 2026-27 season. He had already sat out Philadelphia’s practices on Sunday and Monday, putting him in doubt for Tuesday’s opener against the Knicks.

Barlow, 23, emerged as a reliable part of Nick Nurse’s rotation in 2025-26 after a modest role in his first three seasons with San Antonio and Atlanta. The 6-foot-9 power forward made 71 appearances and averaged 7.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks in 23.8 minutes per game while playing solid, versatile defense.
