Minnesota agreed to a two-way contract with Norchad Omier, who would be the first Nicaraguan-born NBA player, and will waive Enrique Freeman, while Oklahoma City added Dalen Terry on a two-year deal.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to sign forward Norchad Omier to a two-way contract, and they will waive two-way forward Enrique Freeman to open the spot, NBA insider Michael Scotto reported Tuesday. Omier, 25, would be the first Nicaraguan-born player to play in the NBA.
Scotto reported that Freeman is dealing with a minor injury that will keep him out for a few weeks, which is why he is the one to go. The Timberwolves had no open two-way slot, and Minnesota’s other two-way players, Rocco Zikarsky and Zyon Pullin, are not affected. The deal is expected to be made official Tuesday or Wednesday.
Omier went undrafted out of Baylor in 2025 and spent most of last season in the G League, first with the Cleveland Charge and then with the San Diego Clippers after he signed a two-way deal with the Clippers in February. He played six NBA games for Los Angeles.
He was set to rejoin the Charge to start the G League season before the new deal came together. At 6-foot-7 he is undersized for a big man, and his case rests on energy, finishing and offensive rebounding.
Earlier Tuesday, forward-guard Dalen Terry agreed to a standard two-year contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Shams Charania reported. Terry, the 18th pick in the 2022 draft, spent three and a half seasons with Chicago, and later passed through New York, New Orleans and Philadelphia. He went to Golden State’s camp on a non-guaranteed deal, was waived at the end of the preseason, and had reported to the Santa Cruz Warriors before leaving to sign with Oklahoma City.
The signing fills the spot the Thunder had held open since they stepped back from a deal with free agent Ochai Agbaji after Chet Holmgren’s knee injury. Oklahoma City is missing Holmgren, Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace, and a full 15-man standard roster also gives the team more room to use players on two-way deals and to apply for a hardship exception later. Where each of those three stands is in our Wednesday injury roundup.
The Timberwolves must file the paperwork for Omier and Freeman, and the league’s transaction log will show both moves when they are official. Indiana, down to six healthy players Monday, becomes able to add a 15th man on Thursday, so another signing could be next.
