The NBA noted he is the first player with 50 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks in a game since Bob McAdoo in 1974. He shot 16-of-28 from the field and 19-of-23 at the free-throw line, and finished with seven dunks and two steals.
Wembanyama had 29 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks, five dunks and two steals by halftime, on 7-of-12 shooting and a perfect 15-of-15 at the line. The Spurs said he was the first player in the play-by-play era with at least 25 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in a single half.
The defensive highlight came late in the second quarter, when he blocked three shots in 13 seconds, one each against Cooper Flagg, P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford.
