The Warriors prefer to keep Moses Moody and were only willing to trade the injured wing this offseason if it brought back a “significant” roster upgrade, league sources tell Brett Siegel.

Moody is working back from a ruptured left patellar tendon and is targeting a December or January return. Siegel’s sources also downplayed the possibility of Jimmy Butler, who is recovering from a torn ACL, being traded this season.

Siegel adds that the Warriors were optimistic about Kristaps Porzingis’ health when they signed him to a two-year, $40 million extension over the summer and never seriously considered letting him walk in free agency. They have since begun exploring the trade market for him.
