Watch: Aaron Gordon leads Nuggets practice and Draymond coaches Acuff

Wednesday’s later NBA clips shift from last night’s box scores to the habits that carry into Opening Night: Aaron Gordon still setting the tone for Denver from the practice floor, and Draymond Green mid-game coaching a Kings rookie who shares his Michigan roots.

Gordon leads from the sideline

The league’s practice cut shows Gordon directing teammates even when he is not in the drill himself. Year 13 for the Nuggets forward starts next Thursday, October 22, against Oklahoma City on ESPN — Denver’s regular-season opener.

Draymond coaches Acuff mid-game

During Saturday’s Kings–Warriors preseason game, Green pulled Darius Acuff Jr. aside to talk about reading the floor. Acuff later said Draymond looks out for him and called the Michigan connection real — Green was telling him to see the game a little more, not just play through it.

"He was telling me to read the game a little more… Draymond is my dog, he looks out… Michigan connection."
