Tuesday’s preseason games are still producing clips a day later, and Wednesday’s batch is all about effort: Golden State chasing loose balls into the crowd, two Kings big men filling the stat sheet in a loss, and Tyrese Haliburton’s first half in Oklahoma City from Indiana’s side of the floor. James Harden also weighed in on the most famous beard in the league.

Warriors go into the stands

Golden State’s 101-89 comeback win over the Lakers in Las Vegas was built on hustle, and the Warriors kept diving after loose balls even when it meant ending up in the seats. Brandin Podziemski led the team with 17 points, Yaxel Lendeborg added 17 and De’Anthony Melton finished with six steals.

Mogbo and Achiuwa fill it up for Sacramento

The Kings rested most of their projected starters in a 110-98 loss to Portland, which opened up minutes in the frontcourt. Jonathan Mogbo made the most of them with 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

Precious Achiuwa started and posted a double-double of 12 points, 11 rebounds and four assists before leaving late with a right ankle injury. The Kings were expected to evaluate him further on Wednesday, with no timetable announced, in a frontcourt that is already missing Maxime Raynaud and Dylan Cardwell.

Haliburton’s half, from the Pacers’ bench

Haliburton played only the first half of Indiana’s 114-112 overtime loss in Oklahoma City, his first game back in the arena where he was hurt in the Finals. He still led all scorers with 24 points, four 3-pointers and two blocks in 18 minutes. Indiana’s own cut of the night includes the reaction from the Pacers’ side.

Harden on the beard

The league put the question to Cleveland: which Cavaliers teammate could grow a beard like James Harden’s? Harden, known around the league as The Beard, says the look started a trend well beyond the NBA.
