Alperen Sengun is ruled out for Friday’s game at Dallas with low back soreness

The Houston Rockets ruled Alperen Sengun out of Friday night’s game at Dallas with low back soreness, the NBA’s official injury report showed as of 7:00 p.m. ET.

Sengun had been listed as questionable earlier in the day after imaging this week showed a mild back strain. He also sat out Wednesday’s 132-100 win at Milwaukee, and coach Ime Udoka had said he hoped the absence would be short-term, “a few games at most.”

Houston, off to a 5-0 start, also has Reed Sheppard (low back soreness) and Steven Adams (right soleus strain) out, while Marcus Smart remains questionable with a left forearm strain. Dallas ruled out Santi Aldama (right knee surgery) and Tarik Biberovic (right heel bursitis).
