Anfernee Simons, Adem Bona ruled out of Sixers’ preseason finale

The Philadelphia 76ers have ruled Anfernee Simons and Adem Bona out of Friday night’s preseason finale against the Boston Celtics, reporter Noah Levick reported.

Both players were full participants in practice on Thursday and joined a full-court scrimmage afterward, according to a team official. Simons has been sidelined for the entire preseason with a hamstring injury, Bona with a left foot sprain.

“They’re going through good portions of practice,” head coach Nick Nurse said Thursday. “Hopefully, we’ll get them back sooner rather than later.”

Bona is in line to be the primary backup center after Ariel Hukporti tore his right Achilles tendon in the preseason opener, while Simons is expected to be the first guard off the bench. The Sixers open the regular season on Tuesday against the New York Knicks.
