The Brooklyn Nets have requested waivers on forward Ben Humrichous, the team announced Thursday, a move that brings their roster into compliance ahead of the regular season.

Humrichous, 24, signed with Brooklyn before training camp and competed with forward Dain Dainja for a roster spot. He appeared in just two preseason games, averaging 5.4 minutes.

The sharpshooter went undrafted this past summer after a college career that took him from Huntington to Evansville and finally Illinois. In six Summer League games for the Nets, he averaged 6.7 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 38.2 percent from three-point range.

Humrichous is a candidate to join the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League affiliate, according to Nets Wire.

Brooklyn now sits at 15 standard contracts and three two-way deals. The Nets open the regular season at home next Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets.
