The Bucks have waived forward Pete Nance, forward/center Johni Broome and center Jake Stephens, the team announced Saturday.

While Broome and Stephens were on Exhibit 10 contracts and were always considered likely to be cut before the season, Nance’s release is more noteworthy. His salary was non-guaranteed, but he was on a two-year contract and Jake Fischer reported this week that Milwaukee had hoped to retain him. Re-signing Nance to a two-way deal remains possible if he clears waivers, as the Bucks have an open slot, though Fischer suggested the front office has some concern about another team poaching him.

The brother of Pacers big man Larry Nance Jr., Pete appeared in 47 games for Milwaukee last season, averaging 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per game while shooting 51.5% from the floor, including 42.0% from three-point range.

Broome, a 2025 second-round pick who spent his rookie year in Philadelphia, and Stephens, a former undrafted free agent who has played in the G League and overseas, are both likely to end up with the Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee’s G League affiliate.
