The Timberwolves have released five players to trim their roster to the regular season limit, the team announced Saturday. Minnesota plans to keep a two-way slot open to see which players become available in the coming days, according to Jon Krawczynski.

The most notable cut is third-year power forward Enrique Freeman, who held a two-way contract. The 26-year-old appeared in four NBA games last season while also playing for the Wolves’ G League affiliate, and was re-signed to another two-way deal in July.

The other four players waived were on Exhibit 10 deals: Antonio Reeves, KJ Martin, Norchad Omier and Drew Timme. Martin, 29, has the most experience of the group, with 309 combined appearances over the past five seasons for the Rockets, Clippers, Sixers and Jazz. He played in China last season and was hoping to make an NBA comeback with Minnesota. Reeves, a second-round pick in 2024, has appeared in 54 games with New Orleans and Charlotte across his first two NBA seasons, spending last year on a two-way contract with the Hornets.
