The Mavericks have waived guards Seth Lundy and John Poulakidas, the team announced Saturday. Lundy was on a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract, while Poulakidas held one of Dallas’ three two-way deals.

Lundy, the 46th overall pick in the 2023 draft, spent most of his first two NBA seasons on two-way deals with the Hawks and Clippers but appeared in just nine regular season games while battling left ankle problems. He averaged 5.5 points in 11.7 minutes across all four of Dallas’ preseason games this month and appears likely to end up with the Texas Legends, the Mavs’ G League affiliate.

Poulakidas signed a two-year, two-way contract with Dallas in March and played 13 games down the stretch, averaging 8.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 19.5 minutes while shooting 40.3% from three-point range. He scored 21 points in 41 preseason minutes across three games, making 5-of-11 threes, but the club has decided to go in a different direction with the two-way slot.

The Mavs now have 18 players under contract but are not yet in compliance with roster rules, carrying 16 on standard deals and two on two-way contracts. One more standard-roster move is required before Monday’s deadline.
