The Cleveland Cavaliers have released Curtis Jones and Kadary Richmond, clearing the two roster spots needed to complete Exhibit 10 contracts for Jaxson Robinson and Noam Yaacov, RealGM reported Sunday night, October 11, in its league transactions report.

The moves close a loop that had been left open since Friday. Robinson and Yaacov were first reported as camp signings on October 9, but Cleveland already had a full preseason roster, and none of the early reports said who would make way. Hoops Rumors had pointed to four players on non-guaranteed camp contracts as the likeliest candidates: Jones, Richmond, Zack Austin and Rashaun Agee. Austin and Agee stay in camp for now.

Why the Charge matters here

None of the four players involved is expected to vanish from the organization. According to RealGM, Jones, Richmond, Robinson and Yaacov are all projected to play for the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers’ G League affiliate, once the preseason ends. Exhibit 10 contracts are built for exactly that route: a player who is cut from one can earn a bonus by spending the following season with the club’s G League team, which lets Cleveland keep developing prospects without using a standard roster spot.

Robinson already knows that path. The 6-foot-7 wing went undrafted in 2025 after a college career that took him through Texas, Arkansas, BYU and Kentucky, signed a camp deal with Cleveland, was released before last season and spent his first professional year with the Charge.

Yaacov arrives from a different direction. The 6-foot-4 Israeli point guard, who turns 22 later this month, played last season for Oostende in Belgium, where he ran the offense at 6.0 assists a game while scoring 17.2 points per outing, adding 1.1 steals and 3.9 boards. Both reports say he had committed to play college basketball at Utah before choosing the Cavaliers’ camp offer instead.

What is still unconfirmed

The waivers come from a single report so far; the team’s own wording on the moves had not been seen by whynba at publication. Jones and Richmond must clear waivers before they are free to join the Charge, and no G League assignments have been announced. Cleveland’s regular-season roster decisions are still to come, and nothing in these camp contracts guarantees Robinson or Yaacov a place on it. What comes next

The Cavaliers, who beat the Orlando Magic 119-105 on Sunday, face the same opponent again on the road on Tuesday, October 13, at 7 p.m. ET. Follow it in the Cavaliers at Magic Game Center.
