The Los Angeles Clippers have brought Fletcher Loyer back onto their training-camp roster, according to an October 13 report. The guard had been waived by the team a week earlier.

The Clippers announced Loyer’s return on a new Exhibit 10 contract. That is a camp agreement, not confirmation of a regular-season roster spot or a two-way signing.

A second opportunity in Clippers camp

The undrafted former Purdue guard was with Los Angeles during the first week of training camp before his October 6 waiver, according to reports. His return follows the Clippers’ release of Yuki Kawamura on Monday.

Reports suggested that Los Angeles could be giving Loyer a chance to compete for an open two-way spot. That is an interpretation of the move, not a role the team has awarded.

The agreement and the roster decision are separate

A return to camp gives Loyer another opportunity to be evaluated. The reports confirm the new camp agreement, but they do not establish a guaranteed NBA role or a completed G League assignment. Every camp move is logged on the NBA transactions tracker.
